According to The Athletic’s report, the NFL is working on a unique subscription streaming service for mobile devices.
The league reportedly explained the project to the team at an annual Owners Meeting in Palm Beach, Florida over the past few days. According to The Athletic, the presentation included a slide from the brand “NFL +” and was sold at a virtual price of $ 5 per month. The NFL Plus service theoretically replaces the NFL Mobile. This is NFL’s previous solution for delivering games on the market to mobile phones and tablets. The NFL had signed a deal with Verizon and Yahoo to showcase some live games, but the partnership ended last year when the airline spun off its content business. In 2017, Verizon lost its cellular exclusivity.
