With the release of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, Rihanna has made her musical comeback. The 34-year-old musician teased the song’s title and audio on Twitter and provided a pre-save link for Spotify and Apple Music listeners.
According to a press release, “Lift Me Up” was co-written by Rih, Tems, Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, and Ryan Coogler as an homage to Chadwick Boseman’s life and legacy. Additionally, the song was produced by Göransson and recorded in five different nations.
Tems stated in a statement, “I wanted to compose something that represents a warm embrace from all the individuals that I’ve lost in my life after chatting with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song. “I made an effort to picture how it would feel if I could sing to them right now and let them know how much I miss them. Hearing Rihanna perform this song is a huge pleasure for me because she has been an influence.
Marvel Entertainment’s official Instagram account posted a 15-second video on Tuesday (October 25). The title of the new movie is shown in the spare, brief clip until it abruptly changes at the 6-second point.
The first “R” in “Forever” rises to the middle of the screen when the title fades to black, and the date Oct. 28, 2022 appears beneath it, giving supporters hope that Rihanna will make her triumphant comeback to music this Friday.
Without providing any additional insight, the account captioned the video with an eye emoji. After that, Rihanna, real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, entered the comment section of the post and fueled the rumors further with a crimson heart and an emoji of her arms crossed in the Wakanda forever position.
