At the Air premiere on Monday at the Regency Village Theatre in West Hollywood, Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, looked stunning, but it was their girls who really stole the show.
Along with their three girls, Isabella, 16, Gia, 14, and Stella, 12, the 52-year-old actor and his wife of 17 years posed on the red carpet with their parents.
In recent years, Damon and Ben Affleck, who was also present at the premiere with his wife, Jennifer Lopez, co-founded a production business called Artists Equity.
Affleck’s film Air, which he also produced, chronicles the rise of Air Jordan and the Nike sneaker company.
A star-studded ensemble for the new movie includes Chris Tucker, Jason Bateman, and EGOT winner Viola Davis.
Additionally at the opening, Oscar winners Damon, Affleck, and Davis posed together.
When Michael Jordan was a member of the Chicago Bulls in 1984, the sneakers, which were made by the American company Nike, Inc., were designed for him. They were made available to the public on April 1, 1985.
Jordan met with Affleck before filming began and gave the project his approval, despite not having a formal role in the movie. Davis’ selection was his idea.
Sonny Vaccaro, played by Damon, is a sports executive who works to increase Nike’s basketball division sales and secure rookie Jordan to a contract to wear their footwear.
Damon joked with ET’s Kevin Frazier during the premiere about his long-running feud with late-night presenter Jimmy Kimmel, who was also present. Damon screamed, “No, no, he’s an a**hole,” when asked if he’d ever be interested in burying the hatchet and simply going on. Why on earth would I do that?
He’s a horrible person, Damon insisted. He is a horrible person. He is an obviously bad guy.
Damon used the chance to poke fun at the host as Kimmel, who has long maintained the hilarious pretense of seething disgust with his longtime buddy, walked the carpet behind him.
“Hey! We ran out of time to snap a picture with you, but I’d really like to. Damon yelled at Kimmel, continuing the Jimmy Kimmel Live joke in which Kimmel, at the conclusion of each show, apologises to Damon for running out of time and being unable to have him on.
Kimmel simply said, “You know, I don’t know who that was, but yeah, I heard him,” when he approached ET. He spoke loudly.
The ensemble of Air, which now includes Bateman, Davis, Chris Tucker, Marlon Wayans, and Chris Messina, started shooting in Los Angeles on June 6, 2022.
On April 5, the movie debuts in cinemas and on Prime Video.
