When she was younger, Jennifer Lopez wished she had gotten more action parts.
The 53-year-old singer/actress has primarily specialized in rom-coms but has recently branched out with the films “Shotgun Wedding” and “The Mother,” in which she plays a former assassin who emerges from hiding to protect her daughter. Jennifer says she enjoys the rush of portraying a tough character on screen.
at a television appearance on “The View.” “[The Mother] was a lot of fun [and] a lot of work,” Jennifer said.
Funny enough, I wish I had landed roles like the ones I am receiving today when I was a little bit more, you know, spry. But a little bit younger, you know? They kind of give me a boost, and it makes me feel wonderful and strong. And it was fantastic.
She continued by saying that in order to make better use of Jennifer’s time, the producers of “The Mother” carefully planned out the fight sequences.
We must be effective, the celebrity continued. Eight hours a day of combat is unsustainable. After about an hour, I say, “OK.” They had to work extremely quickly, which is wonderful for me because I dance, and they choreographed it almost like a dance.
In the interview, Jennifer also discussed her relationship with Ben Affleck, a fellow actor, and revealed that he is an excellent father to her twins from her marriage to Marc Anthony.
“He is honestly the best dad I have ever seen,” she remarked. He is really invested. He occasionally instructs me on how to interact with children.
He is simply so tuned in. He is a clever man in any case; he seems to be extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of topics, and you can tell that when he had children, he must have read every book and learnt everything there is to know about raising children. He then puts this knowledge to use. All you can ask for is a loving, present father who cares and is there every day because that is who he is, and that is what he is.
