Jon Bon Jovi says he won’t return to the stage until he “achieves excellence” as he works to regain his voice after surgery.
The Bon Jovi star has been undergoing frequent therapy sessions to help him sing again following an operation on his vocal chords in 2022, and he has revealed that he would not return to the road until he is satisfied with his voice.
He told Variety that he experiences a wide spectrum of emotions on a daily basis. Yesterday was wonderful. And today was less than ideal. It’s frustrating. I understand that none of us can achieve perfection, but I must achieve excellence in order to perform at that level again, or I will not.”

However, Bon Jovi is emphatic that he is not trying to recover his younger voice.
He stated, “I don’t want to pretend to be someone I’m not.” I don’t try to be the boy I was 29 years ago, but I do want to be the best version of myself in 2024.”
It comes after the singer revealed that if he is unable to get his voice back in shape, he is prepared to stop touring permanently.

He told The Sunday Times, “It’s a parallel plot, right? This is the first time I’ve spoken this. If my singing isn’t excellent or I can’t be the guy I once was, I’m done. And I am fine with that.
“There is a significant difference between being in a studio and going on the road. We recently recorded a new album. I sing in voice therapy every day. “But I want to perform for two and a half hours a night, four nights a week, and I know how good I can be, so if I can’t be that guy … put it this way, I don’t need to be the fat Elvis.”
