Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ is the most anticipated show of 2022. The action-packed trailer for the next season, which will be split into TWO volumes, has finally been released by Netflix.

Stranger Things season 4 has been a long time coming, but now the trailer is here, fans can rejoice! Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is told she must return to Hawkins to fight the ultimate “war” in the action-packed film. Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and the rest of Eleven’s buddies in Hawkins are confronting new Upside Down threats. Jim Hopper, played by David Harbour, is proven to be alive and being held captive in Russia. Season 4 is about to be the TV event of the summer, so buckle up.

Stranger Things season 4 will be split into two volumes, Netflix announced in February 2022. HollywoodLife is breaking down everything we know thus far regarding the season 4 release date, filming, cast, and plot.

Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ is set to premiere on Netflix.
In 2022, Stranger Things 4 will be released in two volumes. On May 27, the first volume of episodes will be released. On July 1, Volume 2 will be released. In an open letter to fans, the Duffer Brothers explained why there will be two volumes instead of the customary full season release:

“With nine scripts, over eight hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, season 4 will be released in two volumes. Volume One will release on May 27th; Volume Two will release five weeks later on July 1st.”

Netflix revealed Stranger Things season 4 in September 2019. On September 30, 2019, the streaming service aired a season 4 announcement trailer, which previewed an alarming message: “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.”

In March 2020, the cast had their first table read for Season 4. In honor of the season 4 premiere, Netflix released a behind-the-scenes video. However, because of the COVID-19 epidemic, production was halted in March 2020. “We informed our cast and staff that we would be stopping production due to a lack of confidence.” “There were no sick crew members, no one was exhibiting symptoms,” executive producer and director Shawn Levy told Variety.

Season 4 will not begin filming until October 2020, so fans will have to wait a long time. Seasons 2 and 3 were separated by nearly two years. Season 4 would have premiered in the summer of 2021 if the show had initially followed that plan. The show was unable to premiere before 2022 owing to the COVID-19 epidemic and production delays.

What Will Happen in Season 5?

Season 5 of Stranger Things will be the series’ final season, according to the Duffer Brothers’ open letter to fans. Season 4 has here, and the creators have stated that it is “also the beginning of the end.”

“We plotted out the entire story arc for Stranger Things seven years ago,” the letter added. We believed the drama will span four to five seasons at the time. It was too big to tell in four parts, but as you’ll discover soon enough, we’re not on our way to the end. Season 4 will be the penultimate season, followed by Season 5.

Within the Stranger Things universe, there are still many more intriguing stories to be told; new mysteries, new adventures, and new surprising heroes. But first, we hope you’ll bear with us as we wrap up this story about Eleven, a remarkable kid, and her brave friends, a damaged police chief, and a furious mother, a small town called Hawkins, and an alternate world knew only as the Upside Down. We appreciate your patience and support as always.”

Netflix also published four new posters to go along with the announcement of the season 4 release dates. Hopper, Joyce, and Murray were depicted in a snowy Russia on the initial poster. “Russia, 001. Reuniting the band after a long hiatus. “Bring a jacket,” says the caption.

The second poster depicts Eleven traveling down the Hawkins Lab hallway. She’s on her way to the Other Side. “002. The Laboratory. The tagline on the poster reads, “Every narrative begins somewhere.”

Creel House, a new location in season 4, is depicted in the third poster. Nancy, Robin, Steve, Dustin, Erica, Max, and Lucas have gathered in preparation for their next expedition. “003. Creel House” reads the caption. Tick-tock.”

Mike, Will, Jonathan, and a mystery girl appear on the fourth and final poster. “California, 004. “Brochachos, hold on to your butts,” the caption says.

“The Hellfire Club,” “Vecna’s Curse,” “The Monster and the Superhero,” “Dear Billy,” “The Nina Project,” “The Dive,” “The Massacre at Hawkins Lab,” “Papa,” and “Piggyback” were among the episode names announced in a video broadcast on Stranger Things Day (November 6).

“Dear Billy” is the title of an episode that has piqued our interest. This title is an obvious reference to Max’s brother, Billy Hargrove, who sacrificed himself in the season 3 finale while fighting the Mindflayer. “Papa,” Eleven’s nickname for Hopper, is another memorable episode title.

Season 4 Teasers

A new teaser was released in honor of Stranger Things Day. Eleven and the Byers have relocated to California, according to the clip. Eleven writes Mike a note about how much she is looking forward to spring break. “Today is Day 185, Mike.” Eleven writers, “I guess I’ve finally adapted.” “Now I even enjoy going to school.” I’ve made a lot of new friends. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to spring break. The fact that I get to see you is a big plus. “This is going to be the best spring break ever.”

Eleven’s hopes don’t quite go according to plan because this is Stranger Things. Eleven and the others find themselves in even more danger and the glimpses of what’s to come to keep us on the edge of our seats.

In August 2021, a 30-second teaser was published, largely featuring scenes from past seasons, but with a few blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments from season 4. One scene features Eleven (with bangs!) being held back by suit-clad men. In another scenario, a bald Hopper wields a blowtorch.

There’s also a quick underwater scene with Steve. Also staring up are Steve, Dustin, Max, Nancy, Lucas, and Robin. But there’s one thing to keep in mind: these sequences don’t feature Will, Mike, Jonathan, or Joyce. “Stranger Things” will return in 2022, according to the video’s caption.

When the Stranger Things team shared a cryptic video on May 5, they hinted at major things to come. “HNL Control Room” was the title of the film, which featured 7 analog TV screens grouped in a circle with music playing in the background. The static noise was only present on the screens until the televisions were turned on one by one for a few seconds.

The graphics included a door handle, a chessboard, an eight ball, and other items. All of these things were splattered with blood. There were some strange CCTV film shots as well.

This video was released the next day, on May 6, to match with the Season 4 teaser, which was released the day before. In the teaser, Matthew Modine’s character, Dr. Brenner, makes an appearance. In a room, kids who look like Season 1 Eleven may be seen playing chess, among other things. Dr. Brenner walks into the room and greets the “kids.” In response, they refer to him as “papa.”

Eleven can be heard breathing heavily, evidently afraid. “Eleven, are you listening?” Dr. Brenner may be heard off-camera questioning Eleven. Eleven opens her eyes all of a sudden.
