During an interview with Access Hollywood to promote their new Hulu series, The Kardashians, which premiered on Monday, April 11, the famous family were playing a game in which they had to assign each other superlatives. When asked who was the “most frugal,” everyone chose Jenner, 26, and their quick reactions left the model perplexed.
“What does that imply?” “I have no idea what that means,” she explained to her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, who was sitting next to her. “It means you care about the cost [of things],” the 42-year-old Poosh founder explained. “Like, [you’re] frugal with your money.”
“Oh, yes!” Jenner responded with a laugh, “I’m cheap.”
On TikTok, a video of the 818 Tequila founder’s impromptu vocabulary lesson quickly went viral. “Kendall doesn’t even know what the word “frugal” means,” one user captioned their video, along with a crying emoji. Many commenters also pointed out that Kylie Jenner appeared to be unfamiliar with the term “frugal,” as she waited for her sisters to show their cards before responding. “When you’re so wealthy that you’ve never heard of or had to use the word frugal,” a social media user wrote in the TikTok comments.
Kendall has topped Forbes’ list of the Highest Paid Supermodels every year since 2017, with a reported $40 million in 2021. In May 2021, she launched her tequila brand, 818, and in September of that year, she was named creative director of the luxury e-commerce site FWRD.
Despite her many accomplishments, Kendall has frequently defended herself against accusations that her success was based solely on her well-known surname and reality TV presence. “Everyone around me, whether it’s friends or family, knows how hard I worked and continue to work,” she said at the Keeping Up With the Kardashians post-season reunion in June 2021. “I did everything that I was supposed to do and had to do to get to the position that I’m at now as a model.”

During the special, Kendall argued that her early appearances on KUWTK held her back when she first started modeling. “Of course, I had a platform, and I never took it for granted,” the Ocean’s 8 star explained at the time. “I was always aware of it, but it almost made my job a little more difficult.” Only because I was on a reality TV show, people probably didn’t want to hire me.”
