The short film Heroes & Villains, directed by Metro Boomin and starring Morgan Freeman, LaKeith Stanfield, Young Thug, and Gunna, is released. His second studio album, Heroes & Villains, is due out on Friday, December 2. The movie comes before that.

Boomin’s cinematic collaboration with Morgan Freeman and his musical story, which is portrayed in each of his album installations, are both continued in the Gibson Hazard-made movie. Because Metro enjoys watching movies a lot, he preferred to have his audience watch the movie as opposed to listening to an album song by song. Hazard has been at the forefront of cinematography since he was in his teens, working on movies for A-listers including The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Future, and Lil Uzi Vert.

The producer’s late mother Leslie Wayne is remembered on the album Heroes & Villains, the follow-up to Metro’s Not All Heroes Wear Capes from 2018. LaKeith Stanfield portrays the “New Villain in Town” in this short film, who is first seen speeding out of a station in a fire engine with flamethrowers on top. The movie’s lead character, Metro, decides to intervene. Metro, which shows the hero rushing in to save the city to the backdrop of songs from his most recent album Heroes & Villains, is narrated by the well-known Morgan Freeman.
