Stranger Things’ cast is set to receive a significant pay raise for the show’s final season.
Netflix, according to Puck News’ Matthew Belloni, has created four separate tiers to negotiate the salaries of the 20 series regulars.
Winona Ryder and David Harbour are in the top tier, with each receiving $9.5 million as the show’s sole adult lead actors.
The second tier includes the original lead cast members in child roles from the show, including Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and Finn Wolfhard, as well as Sadie Sink. They will each earn more than $7 million.
The older teen actors Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawke, Charlie Heaton, and Joe Keery are in the third tier and will each receive $6 million for Stranger Things season five.
Millie Bobby Brown is not included in the tier system because she has an overall deal with Netflix that includes her Enola Holmes films as well as a forthcoming role in The Electric State by the Russo brothers.
The actor, 18, made his debut in a TikTok video posted last Thursday (January 5). Schnapp is lip-syncing to a TikTok by @princessazula0 in which she says, “You know what it never was? That grave. It was never that serious – and, to be honest, it never will be. Never.”
“When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared for 18 years and all they said was ‘We know,'” Schnapp wrote above his lip-syncing.
