Jimmy Garoppolo’s time with the Raiders has ended in embarrassment.
The veteran quarterback has been suspended for two games in the 2024 season for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance rules, according to ESPN.
Garoppolo, however, will serve his two-game suspension with another team because the Raiders will release him before the start of the next league year, according to the source.

Jimmy Garoppolo wears a helmet and warms up before the Las Vegas Raiders’ preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
The Raiders will avoid paying Garoppolo’s $11.25 million incentive by cutting him in the coming weeks.
Garoppolo reportedly utilized prescription medication but did not have the necessary Therapeutic Use Exemption from the NFL, which resulted in his suspension.
He will not appeal the suspension, according to ESPN.
This suspension and eventual discharge caps a terrible year in Sin City for the former 49ers and Patriots quarterback.
After losing his job in San Francisco to Brock Purdy, Garoppolo signed a three-year, $72.75 million contract with the Raiders.

Garoppolo did not impress his new team, tossing only seven touchdowns and nine interceptions in seven starts.
In his final start against the Lions on October 30, Garoppolo repeatedly missed a wide-open Davante Adams down the field, resulting in a 26-14 loss.
The Raiders subsequently benched him in favor of 2023 fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell, who was average at best, throwing 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Their difficulties are the reason the Raiders are reportedly considering a draft trade to move up and grab one of the best collegiate quarterbacks.
Given Garoppolo’s difficulties, pay, and the fact that he was signed by the previous regime, which included coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, it’s not unexpected that the new combination of head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco is moving away from the 32-year-old.
Garoppolo should find job as a backup quarterback, since both the Giants and Jets are looking for a second-string signal caller for the 2024 season.
According to ESPN, Garoppolo will be free to participate in training camp but will be suspended for two weeks once the regular season begins.
